Technical Translation

The translation of technical documents benefits from a clearly defined workflow and from quality control processes, especially when high volumes are required. Creative Translation provides this working structure but is flexible and can co-ordinate with the client’s own processes.

Project Planning
In order to provide an optimum service and to maximise on the scheduled time available, a comprehensive project plan is set up by your dedicated translation co-ordinator. This includes:

* Adoption of existing terminology and translation memories (if available)
* Creation of new terminology glossaries and translation memories
* Defining style parameters specific to client and industry sector
* Defining agency - and clientside actions
* File management/version control/nomenclature
* Fulfilment of print or online deliverables
* Market requirements (terminology and style)
* Quality management
* Translator testing
* Workflow and approvals process

Translation Productivity Tools
Creative Translation uses Trados as the primary productivity tool on all translation projects. The use of Trados enables us reduce costs to the client for repeated text, while dramatically improving consistency of terminology and preferred terms. It also enables us to identify and re-use previously approved translated content. Over time this can ensure considerable savings from project to project.

Translation Memories
Translation Memories (TMs) are used by tools such as Trados to assist in the translation process. At the beginning of a project if there are any existing TMs available we can adopt them instantly. If no previous TMs are available, we create a new one at the end of the first work cycle for each language which is in turn updated with every subsequent project.

Reviews & Approvals
Most commonly it is the client or the client's agent, who gives final approval. However, we handle the complete review and approval process where required.

Once the translations have been approved and completed, all translation memory databases are updated.
